Bhubaneswar: The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) that manages the ‘Mo Bus’ service Wednesday started offering free Odia newspapers for its passengers.
“We are taking this initiative to encourage, propagate and develop a reading habit among the daily commuters. The service will especially benefit those who take a bus ride in the morning. We aim to cover as many travelers as possible,” general manager, personnel and administration and spokesperson of CRUT Dipti Mahapatro said.
CRUT is also contemplating to start mobile libraries in Mo Buses soon.
It may be mentioned here that CRUT launched the ‘Newspaper on Wheels’ initiative in the government operated buses September 1, where a leading English daily was kept in air-conditioned buses for passengers to read and pass on to others.
The service, now, has been extended to other vehicles coming under the ‘Mo Bus’ service, the official said.
