Mobile phones worth Rs 6L seized, plumber held

Kendrapara: Ramgopalpet police personnel of Hyderabad who conducted a raid along with Aul police at Chandiagadi village Sunday arrested Rabindra Das, a plumber, and seized 18 i-phone mobiles, worth of about Rs 6 lakh, from his possession. The plumber allegedly burgled a mobile phone dealer’s godown under Ramgopalpet police station while he was going to repair a pipeline in the mobile go-down recently, informed Salil Kumar Pradhan, IIC of Aul police station.

According to Pradhan, plumber Rabindra allegedly decamped with 20 i-phones from Hyderabad. Later, the mobile phone dealer lodged an FIR at Ramgopalpet police station after verifying the CCTV footage.

Acting on the FIR, Ramgopalpet police personnel registered a case against Das and came to Das’ village with the help of Aul police. Later, the Ramgopalpet police personnel arrested the plumber and seized 18 i–phones and other costly mobiles from his house.

Accused Rabindra was later produced before the local court and the Ramgopalpet police personnel took the accused after obtaining the remand order of the local court, said Pradhan.
