Bhubaneswar: A week-long national art show, entitled Mokshyam, exhibiting paintings, sculptures, graphics, and photographs by eminent artists from half a dozen states, was inaugurated at Suvadra Art Gallery , in Bhubaneswar, Saturday. The exhibition has been attracting huge footfall from art critics, connoisseurs and the general public. Around 72 artistes were present at the opening ceremony and 80 paintings and sculptures have been displayed. Earlier, the exhibition was inaugurated by Padma Vibhusan Raghunath Mohapatra and by eminent sculptors from Paris Gadadhar Ojha and Annie Ojha.
The art expo will also witness live painting demonstration by artists and sculptors. Other eminent guests who were present on the occasion were Manas Ranjan Jena, Secretary Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi, painter and sculptor Ravi Rath, Chairman of Suvadra Art Gallery Surya Rath. Biswajit Panda from Odisha forum New Delhi with his friend Umesh found the art exhibition quite fascinating. Interacting with Orissa POST Biswajit Panda said the reality of India is being exhibited in the exhibition. Sangeeta Patnaik, who was feted Saturday, said, “My work fusion of traditional and modern ideas about communication has won many hearts and I am very happy about it.”
Artists participating in the show include MS Murthy (Bangalore), Sangeeta Kishore (Jharkhand), Md. Anwar (Delhi), Bikramjeet (Andhra Pradesh), Jumoni Bora (Assam), Anil Dingankar
(Mumbai), Sanjay Ketan (Bangalore), Deepak Bakshi (Delhi), Piyali Sarkar (Kharagpur), Arun Badatya (Gujrat) and Manoj Mohanty (Delhi). Besides Tuhina Joshi, Sanjib Biswal, Arun Pallur, Raghunath Sahoo, Chintamani Biswal,
Meenaketan Pattnaik, Suchi smita Sahoo, Ashok Pattnaik, Nibedita Behera, Sangeeta Patnaik, Jitendra Ku Bhanja, Nibruti Seth, Swarnalata Satapathy, Nibedita Mohapatra, Barsha Barnali Das are the participants from Odisha.
