Kesinga: A woman and her daughter of Shantinagar Pada in Bhawanipatna city of Kalahandi district have brought glory to the district and the state as well after being awarded first prizes at Prestigious Award Show 2021 held in New Delhi.
Manju Kar and her daughter Jhansi Soni were received Thursday at Kesinga railway station and given a warm welcome for their achievements.
Manju, who runs a beauty parlour-Rose and Revive Beauty Parlour- at Shantinagar Pada and her daughter Jhansi Soni participated in the contest held at Pitampura in New Delhi September 13. It was organised by Radix Beauty.
Jhansi Soni’s performance in ramp show brought her the Best Kids Model award. Similarly, her mother was honoured with best make-up artist award. They received the awards from distinguished personalities who attended the event as guests including Hindi film actress Mahek Chahal. Hundreds of participants from different parts of the country contested for the coveted awards.
The people of the district were marvel at the success of mother-daughter duo, belonging to a small family. Thursday morning they reached the Kesinga railway station in Samata Express. Local people and members of various organizations who had been waiting for them garlanded them and took them in a procession to the village.
