Bhubaneswar: Southwest monsoon has advanced into some more parts of southern Odisha Saturday, the regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar said.
The weather agency further added that northern limit of monsoon now passes through Odisha’s Malkangiri.
Southwest Monsoon has also advanced into some more parts of the central Arabian Sea, south Maharashtra, Telangana, some parts of south Chhattisgarh, and some more parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh today.
Till 8:30am of June 9: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts.
In the same time frame, hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts.

From 8:30am of June 9 to 8:30am of June 10: The weather agency forecast that heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over Bargarh, Bolangir and Nuapada districts.
In the same time frame, thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40kmph are likely to occur at one or two places over Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada districts.
