“Over the next five days, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied with gusty surface winds with speed reaching 30-40kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in many districts of Odisha. Rainfall activity is likely to gain momentum from June 21 onwards,” Director of IMD Bhubaneswar Manorama Mohanty said.

Besides, for the next 48 hours, hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts, Mohanty added.

Respite from humid weather conditions are likely after 48 hours, IMD informed.
