‘Mouse in Rajdhani Express causes smoke in panel board of a three tier AC coach’

Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) Monday clarified that smoke was reported in the coach number B7 of Bhubaneswar bound Rajdhani Express.

It is not a case of fire, but just a smoke due to short-circuit in Electric Panel Board, ECoR Senior PRO Nirakar Das said.

He said the travelling passengers of 3AC Coach no. B-7 of Bhubaneswar bound 20818 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express detected smoke from Electric Panel Board and informed on-duty TTE.

The Train was stopped immediately. The railway employees rushed and repair and the smoke was controlled.

After inquiry it was not a case of fire, it was a mouse that had entered into the Panel Board leading to a small short-circuit which has been quickly taken care of.

The train, Das said was also checked at Rourkela station and some passengers were shifted to other coaches on their request.

The same coach was checked by the Senior Engineers and Officers of the Railways after the train reached  Bhubaneswar Railway station Monday.
