Bhubaneswar: Well known filmmaker Santosh Panda has been making a film based on the severe cyclonic storm Fani which hit the state May 3.
Panda said, “The script work is in progress and shooting for the movie will start very soon in different places of the state, however the locations have not been decided yet.” It may be mentioned here that Panda is both the writer and director of the movie.
The movie will showcase the aftermath and the resilience of the citizens in combating it.
The Odisha coastal zone has turned most vulnerable due to severe storms at small intervals. The movie will also showcase the preparedness of the urban people for natural disasters. The audience of the movie will know about the storyline only when it is released till then let it be in wraps, informed Panda.
A native of Salepur in Cuttack district, Panda pursued his high school education from Reba High School and +2 from Salepur College. He completed post-graduation from Ravenshaw College in 1997. Son of Annapurna and Kishore Chandra Panda, Santosh is married to Rajalaxmi Rath and the couple is blessed with daughter— Subhangi and Kalyani. Panda had also written and directed the movie ‘Sabas Biju’, which is based on child leadership and child rights.
Panda’s short films are always appreciated and have got many awards at the national and international level. His films not only entertain people but express some social message for the audience.
