BHUBANESWAR: Cultural organisations Saaz Aur Awaaz and Pragati Sunday jointly organised the 11th Amitav Mishra Award Nite and 21st ‘Main to Ek Khwab Hoon’ — an annual musical tribute to legendry singer Mukesh — at Rabindra Mandap here.
SK Tamotia, the former chairman and managing director of NALCO was chief guest at the event. Sudhansu Marik, secretary of Pragati, and Chairman of Evergreen Trust Kamala Kanta Mohanty were the other dignitaries at the event.
Odissi dancer Dipti Routray, lyricist Arun Mantry, Social Activists Gayatri Tripathy, Actress Gitimoy Nanda and Musician Abanikanta Das received the Amitav Mishra awards at the event.
Dev Das, Suraj, BN Kar, Sidhant, Tushar, Surya, Barada, Sanchita, Ritika, Punyata, Disha, Jasmin, Swapna, Biraja presented songs immortalised by Mukesh.
Event organiser Dev Das told Orissa POST that Saaz Aur Awaaz and Pragati organized the event to promote, encourage and popularise old music among the new generation and to delight music lovers and fans of Mukesh.
