New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Investigation into the murder of the five-year-old Pari in Nayagarh district has taken a different turn with the mother of the deceased moving the Supreme Court. The mother of the victim in her plea filed Wednesday in the Supreme Court has requested for a CBI inquiry into the matter. The minor girl was sexually assaulted before being murdered.
The Odisha government has already formed a special investigation team (SIT) which has conducted a probe into the murder. The SIT team is being led by IPS officer Arun Bothra. He has said that a boy, who is a neighbour of the deceased, is responsible for sexually assaulting Pari and murdering her. The boy has already been arrested.
However, the parents of the victim have not been satisfied with the findings of the SIT team. They have alleged that one Babuli Nayak is behind the killing their daughter. They have said that Nayak is a close associate of minister Arun Sahoo and hence is being shielded by the Nayagarh MLA. The couple had also alleged that the killing was linked to trading of human organs.
