Puri: A museum dedicated to Adi Shankaracharya and his four disciples will be set up on the Gobardhan Mutt premises here.
The Mutt authorities have planned an array of events to mark the completion of 25 years of Swami Nischalananda Saraswati’s coronation as Shankaracharya of Gobardhan Peeth. A preparatory meeting was held in Bhubaneswar under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb recently.
Revealing details of the meeting, Gobardhan Mutt public relations officer Manoj Rath said, “The celebrations to commemorate Swami Nischalananda Saraswati’s Pattabhishek would continue till Basant Panchami of 2019. The first phase ceremony is over and two international seminars will be organised in the second phase of the celebrations. A museum will be set up on the Mutt premises depicting the life Adi Shankaracharya and his four disciples. The museum will also have a grand statue of Adi Shankaracharya.”
In the first phase, a spiritual awareness rally was taken out which covered 16 sasans (Brahmin hamlets) in the district, Rath said. In the second phase, there is a plan to cover all the 30 districts of the state, he said, adding the date for the second phase rally will be fixed later.
