Narrow shave for patients as fire breaks out at VIMSAR

Sambalpur: Patients had a narrow escape after a fire broke out at the Neurology ward of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla in Sambalpur district Friday morning at around 8.00am. The exact reason for the break out of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, sources said that it could have started due to a short circuit in the generator room which is close to the dialysis department of VIMSAR.

No casualty or injury has been reported in the incident. However, furniture, fans, lights, electrical equipment and official documents were gutted in the fire.

On being informed, fire services personnel rushed to VIMSAR to douse the flame.
