Warm weather or rainy seasons are like honeymoon period for ants. During these periods, ants enter into houses from gardens and other areas which are really worrisome.
Ants inside the house contaminate the food. They even carry bacteria which they can transfer to food or an open wound. Ants have a diverse family; they are around 12,000 different varieties of ants.
Dealing with these ants is frustrating. Pesticides for ants contain chemicals that are harmful to humans and the environment. So, it is very hard to get rid of the ants.
Here are the ways to get rid of ants naturally.
Cinnamon: Place cinnamon and cloves on the entrance of the house as it is an effective DIY ant control option. It is believed that cinnamon acts as a natural repellent as ants can’t stand strong smell which keep ants away.
Chalk: Ants won’t cross a chalk line. The powdery texture of chalk disables the ability to communicate between ants. It does not impose any health risk to human.
Peppermint Oil: Mix 10 drops of peppermint essential oil in water and spray the solution on windowsills, door frames, as well as the porch. Also, spray some directly on the lines of moving ants for instant removal.
Salt: It is a cheapest method and eco friendly too. Simply boil water and add a large amount of salt to it then spray it in those places where you think ants enter the house.
