Bargarh: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday reached Bijepur to campaign for Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate Rita Sahu in the bypoll scheduled to be held October 21.
The BJD president is on a two-day visit to Bijepur. He landed at Laumunda temporary helipad in a helicopter at 10:42am Thursday and boarded a special bus to hold a road show, campaigning for Rita.
Besides, Patnaik also addressed several gatherings at road side meetings.
Apart from candidate Rita Sahu; Minister Tukuni Sahu, Prafulla Mallick, Arun Sahu, Ranendra Pratap Swain, Sushant Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Prasanna Acharya, former minister Debi Prasad Mishra, Sanjay Das Burma, Snehangini Chhuria and hundreds of supporters were present with Patnaik during his public events.
The Chief Minister was seen urging people to cast their votes in favour of his party’s candidate in the by-election.
With only three days to go for polling and two days for the campaigning to come to an end, all the parties have intensified their campaign in the Assembly constituency.
