Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at a special function held in Soochana Bhawan here Wednesday, felicitated the persons who will on Haj pilgrimage.
This year, 731 such pilgrims are going on the pilgrimage through State Haj Committee. Out of these, 433 are male and 298 female pilgrims. In order to look after welfare of the Haj pilgrims, four ‘Khadim-ul-Hujjaj’ are being sent by the state government.
The government has been providing all facilities for the pilgrims including construction of a Haj House at Bhubaneswar, holding Haj workshops across the state and providing Haj guide books and free Haj travel kits.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveen emphasised that the state government has been persistently working for the welfare and development of the Muslim community. He informed that the construction of the Haj House in the Capital, which has been a long-standing dream, would be completed soon.
The state is providing assistance of `6 lakh each to around 100 minority educational institutions for development of facilities such as library, additional class rooms and laboratory.
