Bhubaneswar : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today flagged off ten mobile eye care centres from the state Secretariat here.
With this, 53 permanent vision care centres in 18 districts and mobile eye care centres in ten districts of the state have been made operational under the Sunetra Yojana.
Odisha is the first state in the country committed to implement the pledge of the WHO and IAPP to eradicate blindness in a timely manner.
Stress has been given to widen the universal eye care programme under the Sunetra Yoajana.
Arrangements for web portal, mobile app and electronic medical report are underway for complete digitization of the universal eye care programme.
