Naveen Patnaik announces assistance for kins of bereaved families

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday announced compassionate assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the next of kin of each of the four people who died in two separate incidents after nor’wester hit Malkangiri district Thursday.

Patnaik expressed his profound grief over the deaths and expressed his sympathies to the bereaved family members.

As per the report, while two people died after a boat hit by strong wind capsized in Satiguda reservoir, two labourers died after the perimeter walls of Malkangiri airstrip collapsed hit by Nor’wester. Three labourers were also injured in the incident. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to provide free high-quality medicare to the injured.

Patnaik also expressed his grief over the death of two girls while bathing in the sea near Aryapalli beach under Chhatrapur block of Ganjam district Thursday and announced an assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the family members of each of the deceased.
