Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a video message Monday urged people living in vulnerable places, low-lying areas, villages, and urban areas to use two mask during the severe super cyclonic storm ‘Yaas’ and to shift to cyclone shelters.
“At a time when the entire human race is suffering due to Covid-19, another crisis has arrived in the form of cyclonic storm ‘Yaas’. Cyclone is not new for Odisha. The state had also faced ‘Amphan’ during Covid last year,” Patnaik said.
Naveen also said that the Odisha government is fully prepared to tackle the Covid-19 crisis and ‘Yaas’. He however, said that cooperation of the people will be needed to overcome the two crises.
“The 4.5 crore people of Odisha are my family and my priority is your safety. I request you all to shift to safe places and cyclone shelters. I request you all to use double masks at cyclone shelters and at home as well. This way we can keep ourselves protected from coronavirus during cyclone ‘Yaas’,” Naveen added.
