Naveen Patnaik distributes BSKY ‘smart health cards’ in Gajapati

Gajapati: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed Monday ‘smart health cards’ to a number of beneficiaries here under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) during his visit. He also dedicated several development projects in the district to local denizens.

Patnaik inaugurated the programme organised for the purpose of distribution of BSKY health cards by handing over one to a woman as the first beneficiary in Gajapati district named Padmabati Pradhan.

Besides, the Chief Minister dedicated development projects worth Rs 820 crore to the residents of Gajapati district, an official stated.

It is pertinent to mention, the launching ceremonies of ‘smart health card’ under BSKY were earlier conducted in Malkangiri August 20, Sundargarh September 14 and Bolangir September 22 this year.

On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, Patnaik had announced to provide ‘smart health cards’ to at least 3.5 crore people of 96 lakh families in the state under BSKY. Each family will be able to avail treatment cost up to Rs 5 lakh per year. However, women members of the families can avail health benefits up to Rs 10 lakh in a year.
