Angul: The Chief Minister (CM) Naveen Patnaik Tuesday instantly sanctioned Rs 31.37 crore for as many as 1,376 projects in 162 panchayats (GPs) under seven blocks in six districts Tuesday.
The seven blocks that will receive funds under the Ama Gaon Ama Vikas Yojana include Bargaon Sadar in Sundargarh district, Tirtol in Jagatsinghpur district, Rayagada in Rayagada district, Jamankira in Sambalpur district, Angul in Angul district and Koksara in Kalahandi district.
The Chief Minister sanctioned the funds Tuesday following an interaction with the residents of these areas via video conferencing. He also directed the officials concerned to complete the sanctioned projects on time.
As the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, the CM advised them to make proper use of the funds and promised to fulfill the other needs in coming days as his government was for the people.
First, the CM sanctioned Rs 3 crore for executing 100 projects in 15 GPs under Bargaon block. Later, an equal amount was sanctioned for undertaking 130 projects in 15 GPs under Sundargarh Sadar block.
Moreover, 29 GPS of Tirtol block in Jagatsinghpur received Rs 4.75 crore for 302 projects. Similarly, Rs 5.87 crore was released for 161 projects in 28 GPs under Rayagada block, Rs 4.75 crore for 267 projects in 20 GPs under Jamankira block, Rs 6.25 crore for 234 projects in 33 GPs under Angul block and Rs 3.75 crore for executing 182 rural projects in 22 GPs under Koksara block.
Overwhelmed by the Chief Minister’s gesture, the villagers and their respective panchayat representatives thanked him for the funds sanctioned for their projects.
The video conference was held in the presence of prominent leaders including the Council of Ministers, concerned MLAs, principal secretary of Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, the respective district Collectors and the elected panchayat representatives of the respective GPs.
