Hinjilicut: Even as electioneering for the second phase of polls picked up, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik went on a campaigning spree in Ganjam district Friday. He took part in a marathon road show in Hinjilcut, appealing the electorate to vote for the ruling party.
The Chief Minister started his road show at Alarigad under Shergad block. His rally passed through Pallipadmanabhpur, Badakhandi and Samajhola under Hinjilcut block before reaching Kanchu village.
Addressing from atop a bus, Patnaik was seeking support of the people for the BJD. He also spoke to people at Durbandh, Gandala, Belagaon, Patapur, Balakrushnapur, Nandaki and Ralaba.
Later he left for Sikiri, Kharida and Hinjilicut municipality, Burupada, Podingi and Pitala.
He also toured various parts of Aska Assembly constituency.
When he reached Aska, the party’ MP nominee Pramila Bisoi was seen with the Chef Minister appealing the people to vote for her in the coming elections. At various places, the people accorded warm welcome to the BJD supremo amid tight security arrangements. Workers and leaders of other parties were seen merging with the road show.
Addressing people at a road show at Gandhi Chhak in Sanakhemundi, the Chief Minister said, “No person will be deprived of KALIA benefits as long as I am alive. Disbursal of KALIA funds to 21 lakh people has been stopped due to a conspiracy. I will redress the problem after coming to power. I have always been and will be with you people through thick and thin. No Central leaders have come to you during Phailin, Hudud and other natural disasters. I have been with you and will be with you all the time.”
