Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Sunday shared a picture of himself planting a tree. An eminent writer, who had earlier written a book ‘The Garden of Life’, his message is to inspire people of the state to go for afforestation.
The Chief Minister’s tweet includes an image taken while planting the sapling and the tweet read, “Planting a tree is invigorating experience for me. One day birds will nest and sing, bees will populate its flowers, many will enjoy its fruits and bask in its shade. It is closest one gets to be with nature in complete gratitude for her blessings.”

“Janani janmabhoomischa swargadapi gariyasi,” he added in Odia.
Earlier, on the occasion of the World Environment Day June 5, the nature-loving Chief Minister had also written, “Conservation of biodiversity and ecosystems can inhibit growth of pathogens and stop spread of zoonotic diseases like #Covid-19. On #WorldEnvironmentDay, let us all pledge to keep our environment healthy and safeguard biodiversity for better future of mankind.”
