Mumbai: Since the arrest of Rhea Chakraborty in the drugs-related case to Sushant Singh Rajput, many other prominent names have surfaced. Among them are Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh. All of them have been interrogated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Apart from those mentioned, three other actors are also under scanner of the NCB. However, as per the disclosure of an NCB official to a TV news channel, the ‘mastermind’ behind the drug scandal is an actor who has also been a supermodel. NCB officials however, did not disclose the name of the supermodel-turned actor as it may hamper investigations.
The NCB will soon summon the three actors under the scanner. Right now the investigating agency is identifying people who maintain the supply chain of drugs to people in the Hindi film industry.
According to NCB sources, Deepika, Sara and Shraddha have given similar statements during interrogation. It seems that all three had come prepared with answers to pass the NCB test. However, the NCB has not been pleased with the answers it has received from the three. According to NCB officials they were evasive on certain questions. So it has not given a clean chit to anyone.
A number of people are under the surveillance of NCB officials since names cropped up during the interrogation of Rhea. NCB chief Rakesh Asthana who is currently in Mumbai has been briefed about all the developments by members of his team. Phone records of a number of prominent actors and directors are being checked. The NCB have also seized the phones and credit cards of Deepika, Sara and Shraddha to examine whether any drug deals were made through those.
