Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will come out with a new Excise policy within the next 15 to 20 days with an aim to strengthen the regulatory framework, Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said Monday.
Sharing the information, Harichandan said the new policy is now in its final stage of preparation, and efforts are on to unveil it at the earliest.
In order to ensure smooth regulation in the sector, the existing policy has been extended for a mont,h and it will continue to be in force till the end of April, the minister said.

He said the new policy is in its conclusive phase of formulation, and it will be enforced after due approval by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The revised guidelines are expected to introduce crucial changes that will strengthen the regulatory framework and address concerns related to the Excise sector.
The move to modify the Excise policy comes in the wake of ongoing efforts to modernise and streamline the sector while balancing economic and social considerations. The new measures are expected to enhance transparency and efficiency.
