New ISL club Odisha FC unveil official logo

Odisha FC’s logo encapsulates the state’s rich culture and heritage and the vision of its parent company, GMS.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC, the Indian Super League’s latest addition, unveiled their official logo, Sunday.

The club came into existence after Delhi Soccer Private Limited, the owners of Delhi Dynamos, penned an MoU with the Sports and Youth Services Department of the Odisha government last month.

Odisha FC’s logo encapsulates the state’s rich culture and heritage and the vision of its parent company, GMS.

The wheel on the logo is the famous Konark chakra. The Sun Temple in Konark is built in the shape of a mighty chariot drawn by seven horses on 12 pairs of wheels. The wheel on the crest is one of the 24 that grace the temple.

The ship represents the club’s parent company, GMS, which is the world’s largest buyer of ships and offshore assets.

“Our logo is the first step towards connecting with the people of Odisha. It’s a very vibrant and a colourful state and the logo represents it. The Chakra in the logo is again a reflection of the rich heritage and the culture of Odisha,” said Rohan Sharma, the club’s director.

The Indian Super League Season 6 will commence from 20th October 2019 with Odisha FC playing their first match at the Kalinga Stadium the November 24.
