Bhubaneswar: The state Home department has given a ‘go ahead’ in connection with making changes in the uniform for the fire services personnel during their non-fire operational duties including performing duties during any disasters. Meanwhile, the Khaki uniform will be worn only during any fire exigencies.
The Home department, in a notification (41671/CD) dated September 20, announced its decision regarding the new uniform. The fire personnel will now be seen in red track pants with yellow stripes on the outer length. The words ‘Odisha Fire Services’ will be written on the back of the trousers. The personnel engaged during floods and other natural calamities will wear yellow T-shirt with the word ‘Fire’ written in fluorescent red on the back.
