Newly recruited lecturers receive appointment letter from CM

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday handed over placement orders to the newly recruited lecturers of higher education department at Soochana Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

As many as 299 lecturers received the placement orders Friday. This process will be completed by November. The higher education department has completed the selection process for 833 teachers in aided colleges.

Speaking about his government’s efforts to improve quality of education in the state, Patnaik said,” We are establishing Centres of Excellence in universities with research funds for young educators. Our focus is on strengthening research capacity in the disciplines that are relevant to the socio-economic development of Odisha.”

Apart from the various scholarships for students in need, career counseling cells and civil service coaching centres are also being opened, Naveen added.  He assured the public that the government is trying to speed up the process of opening an Odia University for preservation and promotion of Odia language.

The Chief Minister also reminded the newly appointed lecturers about the importance of their work in building a society.

“The profession of teaching carries the highest respect in society. In a way, teachers lay the paths to the future of our society. They encourage imagination, critical thinking, and creativity. The socio-economic value of education can be realised by dedicated and committed teachers,” Patnaik said.

Naveen stressed on the need to discover the best of human values within and said teachers in a society are best positioned to realise it.
