Bhubaneswar: The age restriction earlier imposed by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) for entering Lingaraj temple in Odisha capital has been withdrawn, the municipal authority Wednesday said.
Devotees of all age groups will be allowed to visit the famous Shiva temple Wednesday onwards.
Notably, BMC had earlier restricted entry of elderly persons and children below 10 years amid coronavirus outbreak. Besides, it had strictly instructed the temple authorities to check COVID-19 negative report of devotees before allowing them entry to the temple.
The BMC has made arrangements for COVID-19 testing free of cost near the temple for those lacking the test report.
Notably, the temple reopened for the family members of servitors from December 27, 2020. From Wednesday onwards all the devotees can have darshan of Lord Lingaraj at the temple.
