School students typically address their class teacher as “Ma’am.” Even in today’s times, it seems unimaginable to be punished for simply calling a teacher by their name.
But what if you received the same punishment at your workplace as an adult? Something similar happened to an employee who was allegedly given an unusual punishment for not addressing his CEO as Ma’am.
According to reports, the CEO allegedly forced the employee to write, “I will not call you by your name” 100 times as punishment for addressing her without the word “Ma’am.”

A Reddit user shared a post on social media recounting this incident, describing it as both shocking and astonishing. In a chat exchange, a person narrated how tensions escalated between a junior and senior employee at a company. The senior allegedly penalised the junior employee for failing to use “Ma’am” by making him write the sentence 100 times.
The user questioned the CEO’s behavior, stating, “She could have simply warned him in private.” Instead, the CEO allegedly demanded that the employee complete the punishment by the end of the day.
