Champua: Absence of Aadhaar linking has been a cause of major concern for scores of NFSA beneficiaries in Rajia and other panchayats under Champua block in Keonjhar.
Hundreds of beneficiaries were deprived of the monthly quota of subsidized rice. They were dejected.
Such deprivation has come to the fore amid allegation of large-scale irregularities in the selection of NFSA beneficiaries. Many genuine beneficiaries were left out of the list in many panchayats.
Each beneficiary is provided 5kg rice per head every month. In the current month, people of Tungulaisahi, Kainta, Kanchanpur, Mathurapur, Patala, Rajia, Sasanga, Dolita, Maheswarpur and Jayantanapur went to their retailer to lift their quotas of rice, but they had to return empty-handed.
They were told that since their Aadhaar has not been linked in the database, their quota of rice has not been lifted by retailers from the stock point. Their quota will be available only after Aadhaar linking.
