No ‘VIVO IPL’ this year as BCCI suspends title sponsorship with Chinese smartphone maker

New Delhi: The BCCI informed that its sponsorship ties with Chinese smartphone maker Vivo Communications Technology’s Indian arm Vivo India will be suspended for the 2020 season of the IPL scheduled to be hosted between September 19 and November 10 in the UAE through an official press release Thursday.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and vivo Mobile India Pvt Ltd have decided to suspend their partnership for Indian Premier League in 2020,” the release stated.

This comes amidst increased tensions between India and China at the Line of Actual Control that has been brewing for the past few months.
