Noble act: Blank cheque from Krunal Pandya for ex-cricketer fighting for life

Mumbai: It’s rare to see a humanitarian gesture these days. But cricketer Krunal Pandya has put out a helping hand for Jacob Martin who is now on ventilator at a hospital in Baroda undergoing treatment after he suffered injuries to his heart and liver in a car accident, December 28. Martin had played 10 ODIs for India and had represented Baroda for more than over a decade.

Krunal has left a blank cheque for the former player with the note, “Sir, fill up whatever amount you may deem necessary, but nothing less than Rs 1,00,000.” Giving this information Tuesday, the secretary of the Baroda Cricket Association, Sanjay Patel said that the gesture has really moved the Martin family.
