Bhubaneswar: The State Level Project Steering Committee (SLPSC) meeting held Saturday under the chairmanship of LN Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME here approved Dry Fish Cluster at Paradip, Rice Mill Cluster at Balasore and Coir Cluster at Teispur, Puri for recommendation to MSME ministry of the Union government.
The Dry Fish Cluster at Paradeep is said to have 424 micro enterprises with Special Purpose Vehicle having 24 members. The cluster is aimed at using by-products and waste for further value addition during the process. The total project cost of the Dry Fish Cluster project stands at `9.55 crore, of which the Union government’s contribution is `6.5 crore.
Similarly, the Coir Cluster comprises 49 micro and 6 small enterprises. The cluster once completed, will according to the state MSME department, have raw material and product processing centre, coir pith value addition centre and quality testing lab, which will boost the coir based industry. The total project cost of the cluster is `12.25 crore, of which `9.31 crore is proposed to be met by the Centre’s contribution. The Rice Mill Cluster at Balasore has 21 micro/small enterprises as members and is being set up with a view to produce rice bran oil. The total project cost of the cluster is `14.98 crore, of which `10.49 crore is proposed to be met by Union government contribution.
SLPSC approved IDCO proposals for upgradation of the existing industrial estates at Anargadia in Balasore at a project cost of `8.50 crore, Paradip at `10 crore, Jagatpur Industrial Estate at `10 crore and CIE at `10 crore for recommendation to the MSME ministry at the Centre.
