Nor’wester rain warning for 14 districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here Monday issued the Nor’wester rain warning for 14 districts.

The districts that are likely to witness gusty winds, lightning and light to moderate rainfall within the next 24 hours are Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Ganjam, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Boudh and Dhenkanal.

While the condition of soaring temperature prevailed across the state Sunday, all the districts recorded a temperature of more than 30 degree Celsius.

The temperature crossed 40 degree Celsius in some districts, with Titlagarh recording the highest temperature of 41.5 degree Celsius.

The lowest temperature of 17.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Balasore.

Bhawanipatna, Bolangir, Sundargarh, Malkangiri, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Sonepur, Chandbali, Koraput recorded 40 degree Celsius, 40 degree, 39, degree, 39 degree, 37.9 degree, 37.5 degree, 36.8 degree, 36.2 and 36.2 degree Celsius respectively.

The heat wave condition will remain unchanged for the next three to four days, the bulletin added.

The centre has warned people to be alert and not to venture out during the Nor’wester rain.
