NOU students set 20-day deadline

Keonjhar: Students of North Odisha University staged protests Wednesday over the lack of basic facilities at its second campus in Keonjhar town.

The students set a deadline of 20 days for the university authorities to sort out the mess at the second campus.

The student leaders submitted a memorandum addressed to the Vice Chancellor though officials of the second campus.

“If our demands are not met in the next 20 days, the protest will be stepped up and the campus gate will be locked up,” the students warned.

They pointed out that the road leading to the university campus is in bad shape and should be repaired and that there is a need for computers in all departments and the laboratory of the Geology Department. They also demanded a parking lot for vehicles.

The students said that due to lack of lighting on the road they face a lot of inconvenience at night.

Hiralal Das, the Director of the second campus, said the memorandum of the students will be forwarded to the Vice Chancellor and steps will be taken to sort out the problems.
