Puri: Eight servitors engaged in chariot construction for the upcoming Rath Yatra festival have tested positive for Covid-19 recently. Also the rate of new infections in the ‘Temple City’ has been a constant source of worry to the administration. Hence the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the district administration official Friday decided to create a bio-bubble to protect the servitors who are associated with the Rath Yatra festival.

The bio-bubble will be created at the Ratha Khala (the place designated for construction of the three chariots) here. Once servitors enter it, they will not be allowed to come out till the completion of their duties. Those who will enter the bio-bubble will have to undergo RT-PCR tests.
It should be stated here that 88 servitors were initially involved in the chariot construction process. However, now eight have tested positive. So authorities are leaving nothing to chance, sources said.
