OCAC to train Odisha Assembly staffers to implement e-Vidhan

Bhubaneswar: The employees of the office in Odisha Assembly will be given online file management training from Friday as the Assembly will switch to a digital and paperless mode in the near future to promote the green governance format called e-Vidhan.

For this the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) will train the staffers of the Assembly. Employees in various departments will be trained on ‘Odisha Secretariat Workflow Automation System’ software for operation of office files online.

Speaker Dr Surya Narayan Patro and Deputy Speaker of Odisha Assembly Rajani Kant Singh will also undergo training for online file management.

For this all staff of the Assembly will work on computers on their desk from now. They will be also provided with iPads to get the answer of their questions related to their through an application ‘National E-Vidhan Application’ (NeVA).

An amount of Rs 8.56 crore will be spent in order to make Odisha Assembly an e-Vidhan Sabha. For this Centre will bear 60 per cent of the cost and the remaining will be borne by the state government. The decision has been taken following the model of the e-Vidhan Sabha of Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly.
