Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia movie actor Salil Mitra has been critically injured in an accident after his car overturned near Ghatagaon college square of Keonjhar district Sunday.
According to sources, he has fractured his leg and is undergoing treatment at Ghatagaon hospital. His condition is said to be stable.
The incident occurred while he was heading towards Karanjia. The driver somehow lost control of the vehicle leading to the incident. Further details are yet to be known.
Identifying the actor, locals rescued both Salil and the driver and subsequently admitted them to Ghatagaon government hospital.
Mitra is famous for his comic timing and a known face in movie and television industry. Having made his debut with ‘Pua Bhangi Dela Suna Sansara’ in 1999, he has won hearts in movies like ‘Sister Sridevi’, ‘Gote Sua Gote Sari’, ‘Jhia Ta Bigida Gala’ and ‘Agastya’.
