Odia movie actors vote

Bhubaneswar: A string of actors of the Odia film industry cast their votes during the third phase of the simultaneous elections in the state- for six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly segments – Saturday.

After casting their votes at different polling booths in the state Capital, actors Babushaan Mohanty, Partha Sarthi Ray, Arindam Roy, Sailendra Samantaray, Anu Choudhury, Archita Sahu, Elina Samantaray, Swapna Priyadarshini, Sivani Sangita, and others, shared their images on social media showing the indelible ink mark on their fingers. They also shared messages to their fans and followers appealing them to vote.

Actor Babushaan Mohanty who along with his wife Tripti Satpathy voted in Bhubaneswar, said in an Instagram post: “You have got the power use it wisely.”

Actor Partha Sarthi Ray said: “Did my part as responsible citizen, hope you al do yours. Do vote.”

Actress Elina Samantaray said: “Voting is our right and our duty.”

Actor Arindam Roy, who is contesting from Salipur Assembly seat on a BJP ticket, said after voting in Cuttack: “I participated in the great festival of democracy. I discharged my constitutional duty and responsibility by voting. You should also shoulder your responsibility. Vote for the right candidate.”

Actor Sailendra said: “We can choose, that’s the catch of democracy.” Actress Swapna Priyadarsini who voted for the first time said: “I casted my vote for the first time today. I have done my part. Have you?” Actress Archita Sahu said: “My Vote My Right.”

National award-winning Odia directors Anupam patnaik, Nila Madhab Panda also showed their inked fingers after casting votes at a polling station.
