Odisha is fast becoming a modern fashion and fitness hub. With various brands and malls appearing on the fashion scenario, Gen-X guys here are grooming themselves as new icons of fitness and glamour. Meet Supray Meher – a fitness enthusiast, model and actor, who has taken the Internet by storm. Recently, he talked to Orissa POST on a range of subjects ranging from his journey in the industry so far to revealing his future plans. Here are the excerpts:

What made you take up a fitness regime?

I was never this fit, as I use to weigh somewhere around 115 kg. Slowly, it occurred to me that I am not so-cool as far as my health is concerned. So, I started my training in fitness. Now, my fitness has inspired many to give up junk food, sedentary lifestyle and remain fit. My motto is to keep working hard and never give up.

How did modelling happen?

Soon after I shot my portfolio I received a call from Daboo Ratnani to model for one of his projects. That was my turning point in my life, as I started pursuing modelling as a career since 2013.

Two of your videos Toh Katha and The fight both are trending on YouTube now. Tell us about them?

ATR music wanted me to act in one of its video Tohkatha and I agreed. It’s based on a young couple’s relationship. As far as The fight is concerned, it’s all about beating up depression and failures and become successful with healthy workouts.

How do you find the new-found adulation?

Nothing comes for free. It’s my hard work that has got me all the fan-following. What makes me very happy is that my parents are happier than me. Today they feel very proud of me.

Who is your fitness guru?

I have no guru. I am my own inspiration and a good body doesn’t count, it’s the effort and diligence to maintain it year after year that counts.

Any movie offers for you?

Currently, I am in talks with two or three banners and very soon I will declare my upcoming projects. Now, I am preparing to shoot my next fitness video.

What’s your message for the upcoming fitness freaks?

Nothing will be handed to you in a silver platter. Work hard, concentrate, don’t waste time and remember that the sky is the limit.
