Bargarh: Lipika Seth from Bargarh district, on an expedition to Mount Elbrus of Russia, has reached the base camp along with two other co-mountaineers Tuesday.
Her expedition will continue for next ten days as the weather condition is favourable. Lipika would start climbing the Mount Elbrus October 3. Lipika is the daughter of Laxman Seth and Anusuya Seth of Banjipali under Dalaba panchayat in Bhaden block. Previously, she climbed the highest Mount Kilimanjaro (5895 metres) of Africa, sources said.
Notably, the base camp is situated at the west summit 5642 metres / 18510 feet above the sea level. Mount Elbrus is the highest mountain in Europe and tenth most prominent peak of the world, located at the intersection of Europe and Asia.
