Odia soldier passes away

Gopalpur: Thousands of grief stricken soldiers offered tribute to Odia Army Jawan P Rama Rao Reddy Monday after his body arrived from Pune in Maharashtra to his native Karapalli village in Ganjam District.

According to available information, Reddy died after suffering a heart stroke late Sunday night while he was sleeping post dinner. He was immediately admitted to the army hospital Monday morning by his unit members but was declared dead by the doctors.

The deceased soldier was given a guard of honour and was taken in a grand procession to his native by 18 Jawans of Army Air Defence College.

He had joined Army’s Air Defence College in 1996 and was working under Central Ammunition Depot Camp (CAD) in Pulgaon town of Pune in Maharashtra.
