Bengaluru: Seven Odia sculptors and painters showcased their works at an art show by Purabee Art Houz held in the city Sunday.
The twelve day event which was inaugurated by Former development commissioner of Karnataka Chiranjiv Singh Sunday will showcase art works of artists from across the country.
Interacting with Orissa POST, one of the sculptors from Odisha Gyanesh Mishra said, “My sculptures will create a bond between the creator and the audience. Human emotions are pithily condensed in my sculptures with Odissi art garnishing it.”
While Priyaranjan’s horse paintings were quite appealing to the audience, Keshu Das’s lacquered works including toys grabbed the eyeballs too. A gleeful Das said, “Odisha is a place where art is worshipped and I have simply showcased my best art works at the gallery. I sincerely hope everyone will like my work and appreciate the culture of my state.”
However, it was Usha Mishra’s acrylic paintings which became the talk of the town. Usha through her paintings celebrated womanhood by exhibiting a woman’s desire, lust and ambition.
Owner of the Art Houz gallery Jayanti Sehegar said, “I feel immensely proud to exhibit the works of such talented artists from across the county.”
The timing for the exhibition is 6PM to 8:30 PM and it will conclude August 30.
