Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered Tuesday 10,321 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the I & PR department, government of Odisha said in a tweet. Of the fresh 10,321 new COVID-19 cases, 5,779 were from quarantine centres and 4,542 were local contact infections. In the last 24 hours, 11,821 patients have recovered, taking the total recoveries to 5,26,353.
Odisha also reported 22 fresh fatalities taking the total toll in the state to 2,357 as per a tweet issued by the Health and Family Welfare department. Khurda, Boudh, Nuapada, Sundargarh and Kalahandi districts reported three deaths each while Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati districts reported two deaths each. Bolangir district reported one death.
Khurda district topped the list with reporting 1,566 fresh cases, followed by Sundargarh (819), Cuttack (731), Kalahandi (599), Puri (472), Angul (471), Mayurbhanj (458), Sambalpur (405), Bhadrak (350), Koraput (338), Nabarangpur (334), Jajpur (330), Bargarh (320), Jharsuguda (312), Bolangir (291), Nayagarh (273), Balasore (269), Boudh (250), Keonjhar (204), Ganjam (203), Rayagada (163), Kendrapara (162), Jagatsinghpur (159), Nuapada (145), Deogarh (114), Malkangiri and Dhenkanal (77 each), Subarnapur (73), Gajapati (56) and Kandhamal (54),
The State pool stood at 246. These are persons who have come from outside the state and have tested positive.
With the new COVID-19 additions, the total number of positive cases in Odisha has gone up to 6,33,302. The current active cases stand at 1,04,539.
A total of 1,09,97,876 swab samples have been cumulatively tested in Odisha so far.
