Odisha approves 102 MW renewable energy projects at an investment of Rs903.41 crore

Bhubaneswar: The Single Window Committee (SWC)chaired by Odisha energy secretary Vishal Kumar Dev Thursday approved an investment proposal of Rs.903.41 crore to generate 102 MW of renewable energy in Odisha.

The investment in green energy projects to reduce pollution includes a 48 MW wind power project to be set up by HPCL Renewable and Green Energy Ltd at Umerkot in Nabarangpur district and the 49.5 MW wind power project to be set up by ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd at Astaranga in Puri district.

A total investment of Rs 881.28 crore will be made for these two projects.

Similarly, in the field of solar energy, the Single Window committee has approved a 0.72 MW solar project at Manesar, Sambalpur by Vishakha Industries Ltd., 0.8 MW solar project at Jatni, Khurda district by ITC Ltd., 2.2 MW at Kansbahal, Sundargarh district by Amp Energy, and 1 MW solar project at Sarau in Khurda district by Odisha Television Limited with a total investment of Rs 22.13 crore.

As per the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy-2022″, the Single Window Committee (SWC) of the State Power Department has approved a total investment proposal of Rs. 3723.57 crore for generating 499.48 MW of renewable energy in the state.
