Bhubaneswar: An artist from Odisha, Saswat Ranjan Sahoo, has created a replica of Ayodhya’s newly consecrated Ram Temple using over 900 matchsticks.

Images of the replica surfaced on the internet January 22.

Saswat said that it took him six days to complete this replica of Ayodhya’s Ram temple and he used a total of 936 matchsticks to finish this project. The Ram temple replica has a length of 14 inches and a width of 7 inches, he added.

It can be mentioned here that the new Ram Lalla idol was consecrated at the Ayodhya temple Monday, an event led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and watched by lakhs of people on television at their homes and in temples across the country.

Army helicopters showered flower petals on the newly constructed Janmabhoomi temple as the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony took place -– a seminal occasion in India’s political and religious history.

At that moment, celebrations broke out in parts of this Uttar Pradesh temple town with people singing and dancing.
