Odisha-born actor Prem Parija set to prove his mettle in action-packed ‘Commando’ series

Bhubaneswar: Amid the decline in Odia entertainment industry, Odisha-born actor Prem Parija is set to make his debut as protagonist in Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s action-thriller web series based on the popular film ‘Commando’ – which originally starred Vidyut Jammwal.

The teaser for the web series was released on Disney+ Hotstar.

The web series also features Adah Sharma, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Shreya Singh Chaudhry, Amit Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sial, Mukesh Chhabra, and Ishteyak Khan, who round out the cast of the series, produced by Sunshine Pictures Pvt. Ltd.

Born and brought up in Bhubaneswar, Prem did his 10th grade at St. Joseph’s and moved to Delhi for his further studies. After finishing his 12th grade at DPS RK Puram, he completed his graduation from Hans Raj College under Delhi University.

 

Adding to it, Prem had received training in ‘method acting’ from The Lee Strasberg School of Theatre and Film in New York, which honed his skills. He worked as an Assistant Director in Hindi film industry for eight years.

On the professional front, he has worked behind the scenes in movies such as Lucknow Central, Welcome to Karachi, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, and Satyameva Jayate.

Notably, the first movie in the series — Commando – A One Man Army (2013) — was headlined by Vidyut Jammwal. It was followed by two sequels, Commando 2: The Black Money Trail and Commando 3 – which hit screens in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
