Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on digital mode from Japan Sunday approved over Rs 1138.31 crore for the execution of eleven piped water projects.
The projects would supply safe drinking water to over seven lakh people in 15 blocks spread over four districts.
All the projects are targeted to be completed within a period of 24 months and money for their execution would be provided from Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) funding. While seven projects are in the Bolangir district, three projects are in Koraput and Nabarangpur districts and one in Cuttack.
Briefing newspersons, Chief Secretary P K Jena said the cabinet approved the lowest tender of M/S Larsen and Toubro Limited, Chennai, amounting to Rs 479,50,00,000 for the execution of three mega water supply projects in Koraput and Nabarangpur districts.
Around 2,46,340 people in Lamataput, Koraput, and Dabugaon blocks of Koraput and Jharigam block of Nabarangpur district would be benefitted after the project’s completion.
The cabinet approved the tender of M/s Dineshchandra R Agarwal Infracon Pvt Ltd, JV Bhugan Infracon Pvt Ltd, amounting to Rs 153,51,25,281 for the execution of rural piped water supply project in Cuttack district to provide safe drinking water in Tangi-Chowdwar block. As many as 1,47,542 people would be benefitted.
The cabinet approved the tender of M/s Megha Engineering and Infrastrcture Ltd Hyderabad amounting to Rs 205,31,70,001 for the execution of three projects in the blocks of Turekela, Bangomunda and Muribahal in Bolangir district and also approved the tender of M/s NCC Ltd Hyderabad amounting to Rs 299,99,61,141 for the execution of four projects in Bolangir, Punitala, Agalpur, Lohisinga and Deogarh blocks of the district.
