Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet has approved Rs 313.61 crore for five years from 2023-24 to 2027-28 for implementation of the Support to Farmer Producer Organisation (FPOs), a state sector scheme.
The scheme has been introduced with the objective to support more than 1,000 FPOs reaching at least three lakh farmers over the next five years for supporting the FPO ecosystem through credit linkage, financial, technical, and infrastructure support with aggregation and market linkage to facilitate better income opportunities and socio-economic development of the small and marginal farmers of the state.
Briefing newspersons, Chief Secretary P K Jena said the scheme will help farmers obtain remunerative prices of their produces with an additional incremental income at the end of the first implementation year of the scheme.
