Bhubaneswar: Odisha government Monday decided to develop the Konark Temple Complex of Konark Heritage Area Development Plan (KHADP).

It will come under the Integrated Development of Heritage & Monuments and Tourist Destination Scheme.

The state Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved the offer of lowest turnkey bidder M/s B.P. Construction amounting to Rs 209.73 crore for execution of the work.

The work is targeted for completion within a period of 18 months.

In another decision, the state government decided to revive and enhance the heritage value of the inner core of the Old Town of Bhubaneswar through urban design intervention and infrastructure upgradation of the 11th-century Lord Lingaraj Temple.

The work would be implemented under the scheme ‘Development of Ekamra Kshetra in Ekamra Kshetra Amenities & Monuments Revival Action Plan’.

State Cabinet approved the negotiated lowest turnkey tender of M/s B.P. Construction of Rs.156.21 crore for execution of the works.

The work is targeted for completion within 18 months.
